The Bernard Cain Foundation is a non-profit organization
whose mission is to facilitate access to palliative home care and allow
terminally ill people to end their days peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in
the comfort of their own home.
In partnership with the CSSSG, through in-home services, the
Foundation contributes to the well-being of patients at end of life and their
families by funding services that complement those provided by the health
system.
Its purpose is to raise funds to support the following
initiatives:
- · Promote access to palliative home care by developing a range of free care for the applicants.
- · Contribute to improving the quality of life for people in later life.
- · Allow access to attendant services (particularly at night) to provide respite to the surroundings.
- · Provide support to caregivers so that they feel safe with their decisions.
- · Provide adequate training for care teams.
